How do narrative theories relate to a media product you have studied? At the start of the film we can see Mise En Scene elements such as lighting when Hawkeye is with his family, the colour contrast is bright and the lighting is also bright, suggesting a warm and happy family environment. When we see Ronin later on in the film however, there is a very dark and gloomy atmosphere with darker lighting and blurrier colours. The opening scene of Avengers: Endgame shows Hawkeye's family being taken in the universe-wide tragedy named 'The Blip.' We see Hawkeye break down with distraught and anguish as his most loved ones are taken from him. This is set up to be a sad origin story for the character as later on in the middle of the film, we return to back to Hawkeye, but not as we know him. Production Techniques for Loki Trailer

 Mise En Scene  -Costume - Loki is wearing a prisoners outfit.  -Lighting - Quite bright overall.  -Location - Based Outside and Inside sometimes in a devastated area that looks like it has been destroyed.  -Props - A knife is seen, Many other weapons such as spears, guns etc.  Camerawork  - Establishing Shot such as where we can see the main character and the scenery around them.  - Close up shots are used to see facial expressions and emotions of the main characters. - shot reverse shot is used to see both perspectives of a conversation.  - Low angle shot showing Loki imprisoned  Editing techniques  - SFX when a portal opens up.  - Cuts are used to go from one scene to another such as from the protagonist to antagonist.  -  Time Lapse from nigh and day when they release Loki from custody - Sounds Techniques - Marvel Music in Background which is not diegetic this makes the trailer have more suspense.  - D

 Binary Opposition is a theory created by Claude Levi Strauss. Narrative is understood by 2 opposites. Such as an ally and a villain.  Tzvetan Todorov states naratives moved forward in chronological order with one action following after another,  Cause and Effect theory by Pam Cook. The genre of a product does not contribute its success. Discuss the statement with reference to a digital media product you have studied. Use examples to support your answer.  There are many ways genre is constructed throughout media. I am going to discuss Rick  Altman's theory about generic pleasures. I am referring this theory to the video game named GTA 5.  Rick Altman's theory of generic pleasure states that genres have different pleasures that entertain an audience through different ways and how people respond to then also called emotional pleasure. Visceral Pleasure and intellectual pleasure. This suggests that media products could make us feel pleasure in different ways such as in GTA you will feel all of these as you progress through some of the missions leading to the main one.
